Mrs. Edelman is excited to be joining the WMAA staff. After moving away to South Florida for a few years, she is excited to return home to West Michigan and join the WMAA family.
Mrs. Edelman grew up in Charlotte, a small town in mid Michigan. After graduating from Charlotte High School, she studied at Grand Valley State University, graduating with honors in English Secondary Teaching and English as a Second Language. Mrs. Edelman has previously taught 9th grade Honors English in Boca Raton, Florida.
Mrs. Edelman’s favorite part of the English classroom is giving students the opportunity to explore their unique passions through different modes of literacy and teaching them to find and use their voice. This year, Mrs. Edelman is teaching English 9 Honors, English 10 Honors, and Literacy Lab. Some of her favorite reads the last few months were “Brown Girl Dreaming,” “The Hate You Give,” “Monster,” and “Speak.”
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Edelman’s days are spent exploring West Michigan, hanging out with her husband and her puppy (Cash), eating yummy food, and growing as an educator and human being!
