Founder's Letter
Students and Families –
Welcome to West Michigan Aviation Academy (WMAA), where students embark on an academic journey filled with opportunities to reach new heights.
With a curriculum rich in aviation, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and robotics, WMAA offers students the ability to gain in-demand career skills during their high school studies through hands-on learning and critical thinking application.
WMAA also is one of a few select high schools in the country where you can earn a private pilot license as part of its high school curriculum. Our top-notch aviation facilities on the campus of Gerald R. Ford International Airport provide an optimal training ground for students to hone their abilities – in the hangar, on the airstrip, or in the sky.
And, because we’re a public charter high school, WMAA is a tuition-free academy that is open to everyone.
Our vision here at WMAA is to provide an innovative and welcoming environment for students that inspires growth and a passion for learning and helps students to reach their full potential. I believe it can serve as a launch pad for a student’s future to take flight, leaving upon graduation with the skills and confidence to advance into successful careers and a fulfilling life.
Life is full of possibilities. I thank you for your interest in broadening your horizon at West Michigan Aviation Academy.
