This course serves as an introduction to the field of Aerospace Engineering. It should be looked at as an opportunity to try the subject before signing up for the full-year Aerospace Engineering course. This course is a very hands-on, project-based course in which students will be asked to apply physics concepts to the things they build. Significant time is spent creating paper “skimmers,” foam plate gliders, balsa gliders, and other objects significantly influenced by aerodynamics. The class will focus on looking at how those objects manipulate the air around them to successfully create the forces necessary to perform as intended.
