The course is a one-semester study of the principles of economics that apply to the economic system as a whole with particular emphasis on the analysis of national income and price determination, government spending and taxation, money, banking, monetary policy and international trade. Students will also become familiar with economic performance measures, economic growth, the financial sector, stabilization policies, and international economies. This course is taught with the purpose of preparing students to take the AP Macroeconomics Exam and the possibility of receiving college credit. AP Macroeconomics is rigorous, fast paced, requires extensive reading, and the development of higher level thinking skills.
