Mr. Jansen is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he was trained as a Crew Chief on the F-15 and F-16 Aircraft. While serving in the Air Force, he was stationed in England and South Carolina where he served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in additional to several other assignments. As a Staff Sergeant, Mr. Jansen took on several leadership roles in training and aircraft maintenance.
After the completion of his enlistment, he worked for Boeing at the 787 Final Assembly building in Charleston, South Carolina as a Licensed Airframe & Powerplant (A & P) Mechanic. While working at Boeing, he was the Production Test Team Leader tasked with finishing assembly of new aircraft and performing critical functional checks. Mr. Jansen graduated from Grand Valley State University in December 2018 with a B.S. in Mathematics, Education, and Physics. He will be teaching mathematics, physics, and aviation maintenance at West Michigan Aviation Academy. He is excited to work with high school students and help them become more interested in aviation, math and science.
